Description
On the evening of October 30, 1938, Orson Welles's radio play "The War of the Worlds", performed live on the air by the Mercury Theatre troupe, accidentally provokes mass panic when people who missed the opening announcement that a play was being broadcast believed an alien attack was actually occurring.
